Log House 2008

December 26, 2008

The Log House interior is finished. I’ve rented it to a young couple who seem very happy with it. The exterior is still in poor shape – that will be my spring/summer project. In the meantime, here are before and after photos of the Log House remodel.

The original heater at top. The new gas heater sits on a tiled hearth that extends from the entry and into the hallway. I like my red wall, don’t you?

Above you can see the original living room with the hideous brown carpet and blue walls. A little paint and new carpet transformed these rooms.

The bathroom is completely remodeled with new fixtures, cabinet, flooring, paint, and wainscot.

The original kitchen had new cabinets and only needed a little paint.

The original kitchen with its awful wallpaper strip and a cheap gas stove. I found this great vintage gas stove at an estate sale. It works beautifully.

  1. happy to see your progress. I like the simplicity. Goes with the whole small house thing I’m in to. Here’s another log house story you might enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYJKd0rkKss
